How to reach Castle Rock Vapor

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you yourself vape and if so when did you start vaping and what was your greatest motivation to start vaping?:

Ryan:

I do in fact vape. I began vaping a little over 3 years ago as of this past August. I chose to start vaping when I thought about the reality of what is actually in chew and cigarettes. After researching vaping, I decided that I was going to commit and make the switch! I haven’t smoked or chewed in those 3 years since!

VAPEMagazine.com:

Were you or are you a smoker and if so have you stayed true to vaping or have you ever returned to smoking?:

Ryan:

I was a smoker from the age of 10 until I was 29. After 19 years and switching to vaping, I haven’t looked back since.

VAPEMagazine.com:

How do you think vaping could be further improved so it is more like smoking?:

Ryan:

In my opinion, Vaping needs to have standards. Some sort of standards that eliminate the possibility of vaping chemicals that are known to be harmful when inhaled. I have witnessed too many companies manufacturing unsafe products out there. With DIY as popular as it is, it can also be extremely dangerous.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What do you find are the biggest misconceptions about vaping?:

Ryan:

The biggest misconceptions that I’ve experienced with this industry is what’s actually in the ejuice. With so many people set in their own ways, it’s difficult to explain the difference between ejuice and tobacco without the recipient taking it as a personal marketing attempt. Regardless of the health benefits that you explain and show studies of, some can be very stubborn to accept it. Also being a Colorado based company, we’re often misconceived with the “other” industry. Thse are the most common misconceptions that I’ve encountered.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What is your personal go to atomizer, mod and smoke juice combo?:

Ryan:

My go-to rig at the moment is a KBox Mini with Sweet’s Waterberry in 80VG/20PG 3mg. My “cigarette replacement ” setup is a 20W Eleaf iStick with a Kayfun Lite @1.5 ohm. Strawberry Banana 50VG/50PG in 6 mg (my go to ADV for 3 years).

VAPEMagazine.com:

When did you start in the vape business?:

Ryan:

My company originally started out as VaporAid until my business partner and I teamed up to create Castle Rock Vapor. VaporAid was started in October of 2013 and we partnered to rebrand VaporAid to Castle Rock Vapor in May of 2014.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Why did you get into this vape business?:

Ryan:

I got into the vaping industry to not only showcase one of the purest products that I have tried, but my biggest goal was to convert as many smokers to vaping as I possibly could. My company takes great pride in offering a healthier alternative to big tobacco products.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What do enjoy most about working in the vaping industry?:

Ryan:

I enjoy the customers and their stories. I have heard some of the simplest and some of the most heartbreaking reasons that individuals have switched to vaping. However I feel that all of the reasons and all of the inspiration for switching are equally inspirational to me.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What is it like to be in the gold rush days of vaping business?:

Ryan:

It’s a highly competitive market, however I couldn’t ask for a better purpose and time to be in the industry as a supplier of eliquid.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you have more than one vape business?:

Ryan:

We do not. We only own Castle Rock Vapor.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Are you interested in expanding your vape business and if so how would you expand it?:

Ryan:

We would always love to expand. However we would like to stick with our craft eliquid manufacturing and leave the hardware to the hardware experts.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What’s the best advice you can give someone starting their own vape business?:

Ryan:

Research, research, and more research! Know your market, know your competition, know your customer’s needs, know your customer demographics. I’ve also found that knowing how to correctly transition a smoker into vaping is extremely helpful as well. Nic levels, low maintenance mods and atomizers, etc.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What is your top selling smoke juices?:

Ryan:

Our top selling flavor is Sweet’s Waterberry. This is a Strawberry Watermelon flavor that we created for a customer and decided to put it on the website. Since then, it’s become our top seller with our Harmony 100% organic and 100% VG line creeping in slowly but surely behind it.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you think there is anything the vape community can do to stop big tobacco from lobbying against open and free vape business?:

Ryan:

We need to lobby ourselves. Equal playing fields without bullies is essential to the success of this industry.

VAPEMagazine.com:

How do you think the new FDA regulations will effect you and your shop?:

Ryan:

It’s hard to say, however it sounds as though it will cost an exorbitant amount of money for legitimate companies to stay in business.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Would you be interested in joining the vaping community that is fighting for the rights of vaping and vaping businesses?:

Ryan:

Absolutely! We have and will do anything and everything that we can to support and advocate for this highly health beneficial industry.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you have favorite blogs and or reviewers that you trust?:

Ryan:

We do! ECF, Vapor Talk, and several others. As for reviewers, we have quite a list of those as well!

VAPEMagazine.com:

Where can we find you on the web?:

Ryan:

You can find Castle Rock Vapor on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, and Tumblr.

VAPEMagazine.com:

If you could get more involved with the vaping community socially, would you?:

Ryan:

Most certainly! We love supporting the community as a whole.

VAPEMagazine.com:

With the new trend for (deep character development ) storytelling, would you be interest in an ongoing story about you and your vape business?:

Ryan:

Absolutely. This is a budding industry. I think it’s great to see company’s histories!

VAPEMagazine.com:

How could the vaping community further help your business?:

Ryan:

Our main objective is for our customers to experience a pure product at an affordable cost. As many of our customers already have, we encourage for them to spread the word about high quality products. If our customers are happy, we would love for them to help spread the good word!

VAPEMagazine.com:

Of all the things you’ve ever been asked, whats the one thing nobody’s ever asked you that you would love to talk about?:

Ryan:

Purity. Seldom do we get asked about chemicals that are in our ejuice. We go to great lengths to chemically extract triacetin’s, diacetyls, and other chemicals that are known to be bad for inhalation. However it does not appear that many know of them, or perhaps they’re not too concerned with them. We just wish more people were aware of these chemicals and the great lengths that we go to in order to keep our flavors
