How to reach Open Road Vapor

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you yourself vape and if so when did you start vaping and what was your greatest motivation to start vaping?:

Chad:

I started vaping about 5 years ago with a little ego and carto. My small group didn’t know drip tips existed so we just poured some juice in the carto and hoped we didn’t get too much back in our mouth when we sucked on it. People have it so easy now :). The motivation to start vaping came from my desire to reduce my chances of getting cancer. I already had other medical issues and didn’t want to compound them. I was actually in bed for about a year before I got into vaping.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Were you or are you a smoker and if so have you stayed true to vaping or have you ever returned to smoking?:

Chad:

I smoked for around 20 years. I didn’t become a full time vaper until around the beginning of 2014 when I discovered the protank and a 15 watt regulated mod call the SID. Vaping became easier then.

VAPEMagazine.com:

How do you think vaping could be further improved so it is more like smoking?:

Chad:

I would prefer if vaping and smoking did not resemble each other. We want to convert smokers into vapers!

VAPEMagazine.com:

What do you find are the biggest misconceptions about vaping?:

Chad:

Well, due to purchased propaganda, some folks think vaping is worse for you than smoking. Some are still clinging to the old argument that because e-liquid and antifreeze share an ingredient, it must be poisonous. I believe the majority of the population is coming to the realization that vaping is healthier than smoking, but they are unsure as to how much. The scientific community seems to have put a number on how safe it is. It appears that vaping is around 95% safer than smoking. This is according to peer reviewed journals and the British Department of Health. Check out the learning center on openroadvapor.com for more information on vaping and health. Did you like that slick plug?

VAPEMagazine.com:

What is your personal go to atomizer, mod and smoke juice combo?:

Chad:

I have found myself using the sigelei 100 watt due to it’s build quality and battery life. Being a juicemaker, I of course go for flavor builds. To me that is about 1.3 ohms on a Magma RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) at about 17 watts. I usually vape my Cafe Racer (european style custard) or my Ol’Lady (raspberry ice cream).

VAPEMagazine.com:

When did you start in the vape business?:

Chad:

I began flavor research in the beginning of 2014 and incorporated august 8th, 2014

VAPEMagazine.com:

Why did you get into this vape business?:

Chad:

I unwittingly was getting into the vape business as an advocate. I would travel around to the shops that opened up in my area with printed out advocacy signs from CASAA. I became a bit of a local personality. I was doing this while making my own juice concoctions. People suggested that I bottle my stuff so I found a way to make that happen.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What do enjoy most about working in the vaping industry?:

Chad:

Oh the experiences of watching an industry explode in the age of social media, the people I have met and the lives I have helped. I can give 3 answers right?

VAPEMagazine.com:

What is it like to be in the gold rush days of vaping business?:

Chad:

Well the market has become more competitive so the margins are shrinking and you have to come up with new ways to make your brand look attractive, but it’s definitely rewarding.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you have more than one vape business?:

Chad:

Just the e-liquid company at the moment.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Are you interested in expanding your vape business and if so how would you expand it?:

Chad:

We are looking into overseas opportunities and a way to penetrate untapped domestic markets. Sorry for the vague answer, but I can’t show all my cards ya know.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What’s the best advice you can give someone starting their own vape business?:

Chad:

Stay positive, do it the right way and you will sleep great at night.

VAPEMagazine.com:

What is your top selling smoke juices?:

Chad:

Ol’Lady. Everyone loves Ol’Lady.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you think there is anything the vape community can do to stop big tobacco from lobbying against open and free vape business?:

Chad:

I’m not sure big tobacco is the enemy here. The government has a tax agenda here and it is public record that big drug companies back bills that restrict vaping. Of course there is something the vape community can do about unreasonable legislation and we have. Since at least 2010, advocates have been showing up at state capitals making their opinions heard. Hundreds showed up at the California State Assembly hearings this summer and were able to reduce some of the proposed legislation. Many states have formed political action committees such as SFATA to develop relationships with lawmakers. We are seeing positive results from that.

VAPEMagazine.com:

How do you think the new FDA regulations will effect you and your shop?:

Chad:

The “deeming regulations” as they are written will not go into effect. They are modeled after the approval process for a medicinal drug. This means is would cost way too much money to get any products approved. 99% of the vaping industry would disappear.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Would you be interested in joining the vaping community that is fighting for the rights of vaping and vaping businesses?:

Chad:

I am and have been intimately involved.

VAPEMagazine.com:

Do you have favorite blogs and or reviewers that you trust?:

Chad:

VAPEMagazine.com:

Chad:

Of course.

VAPEMagazine.com:

With the new trend for (deep character development ) storytelling, would you be interest in an ongoing story about you and your vape business?:

Chad:

Sure, I would share my trials and successes.

Chad:
